GREETINGS FELLOW PANTHERS;
It is that time again, the all classes reunion is upon us! The dates are July 10 -12, 2020 (Friday-Saturday). Truly hope you are planning to join us and fellowship with your fellow Panthers? Because there are no more graduates of Dunbar High School 1924-1993, we are now a middle school 6-8 grade, our number are growing smaller. There are somewhere between 900 and less than 1,600 of us left.
Our school is on the state list for closure if the school does not improve the test scores by June of 2020. Since Dunbar, as a senior high is no more, let's not let the state close down our PANTHER SPIRIT! The theme is "THROUGH IT ALL--DUNBAR PANTHERS STILL STANDING STRONG!"
The cost for putting on these types of events has gone up! In the past the varied rates have caused us to go in the red....the cost for this reunion will be $150.00 per person. A t-shirt and Sunday breakfast will be included in the registration price. We hope all Panthers will start to plan today for July and please join us!
The deadline for all funds and applications (see below) will be June 22, 2020. When dealing with vendors and hotels, they set deadlines for a head count usually 10 days to 2 weeks ahead, for ordering purposes. I know people's plans change and sometime last minute, stuff happens. On our deadlines, we need your help. We will not be able to accept any late registrations. We apologize if this causes some fellow Panthers hardship or inconveniences. This is the cost of doing and handing business. We want people who register on time to be treated fairly. so, again , no late registration PLEASE!! We need your help to make the reunion a success.
Events will be held at the Elegante Hotel, 801 Ave Q Lubbock TX , phone 806-763-2100. Cashiers checks and money orderly please. Blocks of rooms have been set aside at the Elegante' Hotel for $89.00 per night. Deadline for rooms reservation is June 19, 2020. The theme for Saturday night will be Christmas in July & "dress to impress". Don’t forget to sign up for the infamous Dunbar Talent Show.
